Top Four Foods That Are Least Likely to Cause Cavities

Posted on 10/15/2016 by Allan Hablutzel
A cup of hot tea.
There are some foods that are synonymous with cavities in your mouth, like sugar. However, there are also foods that are really good at not causing cavities. If you are trying to better your diet so that your teeth look better and remain stronger, then there are a few foods you should make sure you are eating. Here are a few that you should make sure are on that list.

Make These Foods a Staple of Your Diet

Peanuts are one of the best foods for your teeth. They are known to be very unlikely to cause a cavity. They have the ability to stimulate saliva production, helping to rid your mouth of bad particles and acids at the same time. Plus the extra chewing helps to basically brush your teeth.

Tea is another great food when you do not want cavities. Granted, it is a drink, but you can eat tea leaves as well. The antibacterial properties of tea make it great for keeping your teeth healthy and your mouth happy.

Celery should be a snack everyone indulges in. It hydrates your mouth, it brushes your teeth, and it stimulates your gums with each bite. It is one of those foods that is really underrated, but incredibly good for your body as a whole.

Cheese is another great option when you want to steer clear of cavities. It adds needed calcium to your teeth while you chew, plus it protects against acid erosion by bonding to your biofilm and plaque prior to brushing.

If you want to be able to make sure your diet is full of items that will protect against cavities, here is a good place to start. Take the time to get to know what your teeth need, then feed them the things your dentist wants you eating anyway!
